What is Javascript? And how does Beacon use it?
JavaScript is an implementation of the ECMAScript language standard that is typically used to enable programmatic access to computational objects within a host environment. This enables Beacon to program survey logic outside of the standard survey programming package currently used. This allows greater flexibility for our clients and survey instruments.
In the example below, the JavaScript allows the respondent to make a preference selection using a sliding scale. By placing the computer mouse on the round button, the respondent can move the button from side to side. The final position indicates the strength of the preference in the scenario provided. Each place on the slide scale has a point value that is then used in the analysis.
Data tabulation report
Cross tabulations are created in-house using advanced tabulation software. Beacon uses the raw data collected from surveys to create these reports for in-depth data analysis. The data can be analyzed in a number of ways, based on chosen variables.
